I-35 Northeast Expansion Project Construction and Road Closure Update

The I-35 Northeast Expansion (NEX) Central Project will continue construction this week. This 9.5-mile transportation improvement project, from I-410 North in Bexar County to FM 3009 in Guadalupe County, will have three elevated lanes in both directions, including high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes, and will incorporate flyovers to I-410 North and Loop 1604 West.

Please note that TxDOT will be giving 48-hour notice for lane closures and traffic switched that will be in place for less than 24 hours and a 14-day notice will be given for closures and traffic switched in place for more than 24 hours.

• Sunday July 31 until Saturday August 6 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Alternating lane closures on eastbound Loop 1604 frontage road from Nacogdoches Road to Union Pacific Railroad for barrier work.
• Sunday July 31 until Saturday August 6 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Alternating lane closures on westbound Loop 1604 frontage road between Gateway Boulevard and Lookout Road for striping and barrier work.
• Sunday July 31 until Saturday August 6 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Alternating lane closures on Loop 1604 frontage road eastbound to westbound turnaround between Nacogdoches Road and Union Pacific Railroad for striping and barrier work.

• Sunday July 31 until Saturday August 6 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Westbound Loop 1604 frontage road exit ramp closure from Gateway Boulevard to Lookout Road for striping and barrier work. Traffic must use Lookout Road Exit.
• Sunday July 31 until Saturday August 6 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Westbound Loop 1604 entrance ramp closure from Union Pacific Railroad to Nacogdoches Road for striping and barrier work. Traffic must continue westbound on frontage road and use the next entrance ramp to access Loop 1604.
• Sunday July 31 until Saturday August 6 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Lookout Road exit ramp closure on eastbound Loop 1604 and left lane frontage road closure between Nacogdoches Road and Union Pacific Railroad for striping work. Traffic must continue eastbound Loop 1604 and use the IKEA-RBFCU Parkway or Nacogdoches exit ramp to access Lookout Road.

• Sunday July 31 until Saturday August 6 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Right lane closure on Loop 1604 frontage road turnaround from Nacogdoches Road to Union Pacific Railroad for geotechnical and drilling work.

I-35

Right lane closure on northbound I-35, Pat Booker Road exit ramp closure, and left lane closure on northbound frontage road of I-35 from Toepperwein Road to Shin Oak Road for geotechnical and drilling work. All traffic must exit Toepperwein Road (exit 170B) and follow the signs.
• Sunday July 31 until Saturday August 6 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Right lane closure on southbound frontage road of I-35 from Toepperwein Road and Judson Road for utility inspection work.
• Sunday July 31 until Saturday August 6 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Right lane closure on southbound I-35 connector ramp from IKEA-RBFCU Parkway to McMorris Boulevard for geotechnical and drilling work.
